PARENT INFORMATION
Purpose: The South Central Pennsylvania Youth Wrestling Organization was formed by local coaches to provide the best possible experience for elementary aged wrestlers. The Organization sponsors (in cooperation with Member Programs) various types of activities, including tournaments, camps, scrimmages, and clinics.

Two types of tournaments are sanctioned by SCPYWO: 1) "Traditional," or "Open" Tournaments with large brackets based on age and weight classes; and 2) "Classification" Tournaments with children placed in small brackets based on age, weight, and skill level. Your team's coach will be working with you and your child to determine which competitions would be most appropriate.

Registration, Fees, and Eligibility: For sanctioned tournaments, Coaches will enter their wrestlers by an electronic registration system utilizing the SCPYWO Web site. Each Program will have its own arrangement for collecting entry fees from wrestlers prior to the tournament; bulk payment of these fees will then be made by the team directly to the host organization.

For your child to be eligible for SCPYWO events, you must complete, sign, and return the accompanying Registration and Liability Wavier form to your coach, who will then forward it to SCPYWO. There is no fee for this initial registration, and submission of this form does not carry any obligation to participate in any activity. However, wrestlers will not be eligible to enter if this from (or a facsimile) is not properly completed, signed, and in SCPYWO's possession prior to the event.

Participant Obligation: As noted above, bulk team registrations for sanctioned events will be done by your Coach, and you will need to establish with your Coach which events you plan to attend. Cancellations may be made (through notification of your Coach or some designated team representative) without penalty up until three days before an event; your team will be billed the full entry fee if you cancel or fail to show after that time. "No Shows" are a major problem for our events, since they lead to forfeited matches, lost opportunities for wrestlers who do attend, and frustration for organizers. Please make every effort to honor the commitments you make for tournament attendance!

Confidentiality: Certain information is necessary to allow proper bracketing of children in tournaments, including age, weight, and past record. This data will be posted on the website in a way that it is accessible only to your child's Coach and the directors of tournaments that he enters. Personal information, including phone number and address, is not posted or accessible anywhere on the Web site.
